Theme:
You would like to have believed that all the whispers were merely a legend… but recent events will pull you into the haunting of Mcarville Manor. A foolish paranormal TV crew has entered the house and disturbed something sinister. After receiving a distressed call for help, your mission as the towns only police team, is to find the crew and return them safely to the station.
But beware, as the cameras stop rolling and the fear takes over, you will uncover the truth of what happened at Mcarville Manor all those years ago

Theming was good, taking place in a pre-exsiting in what seemed to be a real terrace house, the room lent itself to the creepy nature of the game. With the addition of subtle lighting, demonic markings and a good soundtrack, McArville Manor created a suitable creepy, yet not terrifying atmosphere.
The room was decorated well, with furniture that reflected the abandoned feel of the Manor. – This almost felt like a game from the original Moviescape Trilogy before Ashton branched into Emerency Exit (Haunted HouseExorcistPoltergiest)
The lighting was dim, but a torch was provided for the team. The space was big enough for 6, but later in the game got a little bit more cozy.

Game Play:
A linear game that weaved story throughout. Logic, searching, observaton, word, translation, code-breaking were the staples of this game.
The puzzles were well thought out throughout and fitted nicely in theme, with nice ah-ha moments and clear logic.
Flow was good, with a couple of slowdowns but this was more down to our failings on solving puzzles than the game itself.
Signposting was extremely subtle, we missed a couple of signposted points throughout the game, through it being very inconspicuous .
A good game that had some interesting puzzles which all followed the theme and story of the room to good effect.

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via walkie talkie

Game Host:
Daniel was our game host and also the owner and we found a mutual love of scare attractions (of all things…) and he was clearly passionate about escape rooms too. His clueing was good and came at the appropriate times

Did we escape?
Yes, in 50 mins
