Theme:
“Your friend has travelled the world investigating great conspiracy theories – from the pyramids to JFK.

He has vanished, no doubt because of the secrets he has uncovered. 

It’s your job to search his house to find out what he discovered that got him in so much trouble can you finish his work and uncover the ultimae mystery?

He was a paranoid guy, I bet his covered his tracks quite well…

He wasn’t wrong to be paranoid, he has gone missing – likely because of the all important egg!

If it falls into the wrong hands, it could be the end of civilisation, the end of humanity, the end of…..escape rooms.  DISASTER!

Can you and your friends use your close knowledge of your friend and his conspiracies to find the egg first!?!?!?!?”

Conspiracist was decorated very well, a minimalist set, which was very in keeping with the theme, the room really fely inhabited by someone who was infatuated with conspiracy theories, with titbits of information all over the room. However, this could have easily led to a room with lots of red-herrings (you could imagine a massive board with random bits of string etc…) this isn’t the case, the room was decorated to perfection with enough to set the scene but absoloutley no red-herrings or false leads.
The immersion was good, with a CRACKING soundtrack that kept me bopping the entire time!
The space was large, more than enough space for the maximum of 7 and lighting was atmospheric, it wasn’t brightly lit but this never effected gameplay (in fact, it was a lovely light level!) but if you’re eyes aren’t the best a torch is provided.

Game Play:
An open game that had plenty of fun puzzle types, word, codebreaking, skill, physical, teamwork, touch, logic. All bases were covered although the room leant more to the more cerebral side than physical/skill.
Each and every puzzle was exemplary in its logic and oh so solvable with wonderful ah-ha moments. It’s rare that a room hits the sweet spot of logical puzzles that make the player not only engage with the story but also feel smart whilst solving, and Conspiracist did just that.
The use of backtracking throughout the game was clever, and really kept the game interesting and diverse.
The flow was wonderful, smooth and seamless, with us effectivly gliding from puzzle to puzzle and experiencing no sticky spots.
Signposting was subtle, and in theme with the room and this only aided in deepening the story of the room and immersing us even further.
An excellent room, that plays so well and will delight any size and experience team!

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen in the room (we didn’t use any!)

Game Host:
James was our game host and his passion was clear from the moment we walked through the door, He is an enthusiast himself, having played over 200 games and it was great to have a good chat with him about escape rooms! He delivered a great brief and really set the scene and got us amped for going into the room!

Covid19 Safety:
We felt very, very safe at Want to Escape, the foyer was large enough for us to social distance and everyone in the building wore facemasks at all times. The rooms themselves were scrupulosy clean.

Yes, in about 45 minutes
