Theme:
“BIOwolf is a top secret military project which was set up to formulate an injection which creates super soldiers. Due to the stringent and experimental nature of the program, BIOwolf was recorded to have experienced a number of problems due to the physical and mental enhancement of the drug. Symptoms included chronic headaches, consistent fatigue and sensitivity to bright lights. 7 days after receiving the experimental drug, the subject died. You have been kidnapped by Professor Henry as he knows what caused the problem and wants to continue his experiment on his new subjects. You have 60 minutes to escape the room before becoming one of his next victims.”

Craz Scientest started in a rather bare room, small, dark and confined (torches were provided).

This opened out fairly quickly into a much larger and better lit space. The decoration was good if not minimalist but it gave a good sense of atmosphere & immersion. There was nothing in the decoration to distract from the game itself and the centrepiece of the room was interesting and well themed.

Game Play:
A linear game that compromised of a fair few puzzles types. Observation, logic, math, physical and searching.
The puzzles were nicely on theme and used technology is a very well integrated and themed way. There was one puzzle in the room however, that should in no way be a part of an escape room… it was totally out of theme and only served as a time sink, although if you’ve seen the puzzle before you may know how to solve it (it’s one that has done the rounds many, many times) Other than that one puzzle the the rest were logical and well thought out.
The ah-ha moments were for the most part really nice and clear, with the logic in the room being consistent.
Signposting was better in the latter half of the game, although a lot of the connections were left to the player to make.
Flow was good, and we found ourselves moving from puzzle to puzzle fairly slickly with not that many sticking points. All in all a good game, enjoyable and with some very nice in theme puzzles.

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a walkie talkie

Game Host:
Our game host was polite and attentive, and she remembered us from last time we were there which was lovely! She was prompt with clues when we needed one (I think we only had one nudge through the game)

Did we escape?
Yes, in about 45 minutes.
