Theme:
“Trapped onboard the ship Polaris, you and your crew of have been thrown in the brig, however, there’s been a mutiny onboard and all remaining crew members have abandoned ship!

Navigate the stars and the seas and figure out how to sail the ship through thunder bolts and lighting back to land!”

Wow. Wow. Wow. This game is gorgeous, the set is repurposed from an original 130 year old ship, this creates a feel and immersion that is hard to beat. The set is authentic, sturdy and executed perfectly, and finished to a very high standard. Some of the spaces are a little small but nothing too cramped or claustrophobic. A true gem on the South Coast, this really pushes the boat out (ahha. Pun.) in terms of attention to detail and quality! Whilst a fairly simple story, this doesn’t compound the immersion, and lets the puzzles shine through

Game Play:
A linear game with a clear end goal that is set out in the briefing. All puzzle bases were covered, including searching, logic, word, directions, physical and excellent array of puzzles.
All puzzles were clearly logical, and solvable with lovely ah-ha moments. There are absolutely no red herrings within the room, with everything you find being used in some way or another to further the gameplay.
The room had a wonderful flow, which never gave us any problems throughout the game, and every answer found and padlock unlocked led us perfectly on to the next puzzle. Wonderful game design.
A great room for enthusiasts (although they may find it plain sailing, as it is very much a classic escape room) and a brilliant room for newbies who will ponder over the puzzles and have a blast doing so!

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen, but beware… there’s no alert sound so you have to be on your toes and keep an eye on the screen.

Game Host:
Mica and Dave were our gamehosts (how lucky were we having 2 hosts!), Misha also is the owner of The Escapement. They were wonderful, only delivering subtle nudges in the right direction when needed, they were so warm, welcoming and willing to chat about all things escape rooms!

Did we escape?
Yes, in 41 minutes!
