Theme:
“Following reports of strange lights in the skies over Derbyshire, your team intercepts a distress signal, which leads you to an abandoned military bunker.

Once the door closes behind you, you quickly realise the signal was not all that it seemed, the bunker was not abandoned and you are not alone.

Work together as a team to solve the puzzles and escape.

The truth is in there….”

Theming in the signal was fantastic, simply done (I.e. not overbearing or cluttered) but incredibly effective, immersive and executed to perfection, with nothing being out of theme (even down to the books in the room being in theme) Everything was set for a purpose and used effectively.
As the story unfolded (and this is one of the most story driven and layered games I have ever played, the attention to detail in the story is second to none in this room) The game turned more clinical and sterile and getting into the latter part of the game, has a reveal which is very, very exciting and something I’ve not seen in an escape room before! Just brilliant!

Game Play:
A beautifully linear game with plenty of puzzles to get stuck into, and a mix of logic, observation, maths, physical, word, searching… every single type of puzzle was covered so there really is something for everyone.
The flow of the game was close to perfection, with no lulls or sticky moments, each puzzle was perfectly logical and had great Ah-Ha moments!
Every puzzle was in theme, and pushed the story along during the hour, each padlock that was opened led us to a little more of the story, and piecing this together was another fun aspect of the room.
At one point, the game also asks you to make a choice, which was a brilliant touch, and something that just added to the immersion and adds yet another layer onto the story… (and that is all I’m saying on the matter, you have to play it to find out more!)
I would recommend a smaller team for enthusiasts (as it’s quite a classic style game, you’ll want to see everything) and a team of 4-5 for newbies (I would say it’s a great first game – hard but not frustrating)

Josh was our game host… what can I say, he was just perfect! So friendly, accommodating and read our game with expertise, only nudging us when we really needed it, without ever letting us get even the tiniest bit frustrated! We felt very safe with him game-hosting! We need more “Joshes” in the position of Game Host!
