Theme:
“In the witchcraft trials of 1607, two women were convicted in Derby despite protesting innocence. For centuries, their woodland cabin remained untouched.

Now their story continues: one of mystery, deception and magic…and you will become part of the legend.

Work together as a team to solve the puzzles and escape.

Something wicked this way comes…”

Wow. Wow. WOW. The theming in this room is just perfection… there’s not much more I can say.
Fully immersive and beautifully decorated to the finest details, from the handcrafted cages to the bubbling cauldron… floating spell books, levitating keys, broomsticks, magic wands…, this room had it ALL. Rustic and looking handmade, as a cabin would be 400 years in the past, I can’t express how gorgeous this room is, how much it throws you into the setting and how much you can just loose yourself in the moment, along with a killer story that is actually a real urban legend in Derby…This room is just fantastic.

Game Play:
A totally open game, which centres on finding components to ultimately save humanity. The range of puzzles in this room were excellent, with logic, codebreaking, observation, sound, skill, searching, maths and a LOT of word puzzles (Which just played to my strengths perfectly, I was in my element with the word play in this room)
The opening puzzle was incredibly unique, so logical with a brilliant Ah-Ha moment, and set the tone for the rest of the room…
That tone being that every puzzle was as enjoyable as the last, and with the amount of puzzles in this room that is no mean feat, every single puzzle had perfect logic, perfect execution and was perfectly solvable without hints and every single answer had that Ah-Ha moment that was so exciting.
The flow was impeccable, with no sticking points at all, in fact with this game being SO open you can do this room in whatever order you want, so if a puzzle isn’t clicking you can leave it for a little moment, solve it and come back to it later when you’ve had a break, which means that there is less chance of getting into a “brainlock” on one puzzle.
The finale of this room was exciting, theatrical and really felt like the magic was put into OUR hands for us to escape…
We were very lucky to be allowed to play this game as a 2, normally this room is for a team of 4-10. There is a LOT to do as a team of 2 we didn’t stop for almost the entire hour, so unless you have a lot of experience escaping I would recommend a bigger team.

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen in the room.

Game Host:
Josh again was our gamehost and again was brilliant, reading our game with skill and only sending hints at the perfect time!

Did we escape?
Yes, in 58:13! Close but never once did I feel stressed about time!
