Breakout Liverpool – Sabotage!

Breakout Liverpool – Sabotage!
Location: Liverpool
Game Date 28/03/2017.
Team: Amy & Ian

Sabatage-600x600

Theme:
“Can you go deep behind enemy territory and stop a missile strike which endangers the safety of the entire world? There is 60 minutes before launch, you need to use your secret agent skills, break into the control centre and stop the launch or the consequence will be catastrophic. Sabotage is the sequal to Classified.”

The theming in Sabotage was impressive, with the walls painted in camoflage which must have took a while to do! Sabotage had just had a small makeover and was looking REALLY good! The room is set up to be the Army break room, and control room, this is done really well, with the story of a birthday party going on which added to the immersion. The decoration was clean, finished well and the attention to detail was good, with lots of props and decoration to create a great atmosphere! The soundtrack was also great, with music from one of my favourite video games played, I LOVED this! A really great looking room in a fairly small space!

Game Play:
The game was fairly linear, with a really good flow and LOADS to do! Padlocks a plenty.
There was a wide range of puzzles which leaned more to the lateral thinking/logical. But all bases were covered, observational, maths, logic, skill, creativity, code breaking.
It really played to both mine and Ian’s skills and we took turns in solving puzzles and leading the room (honestly I think he played a bit better than me in Sabotage!) I think every team member will find their niche in this game, there are so many fun puzzles, all perfectly logical with great Ah-Ha moments.
There were so many different puzzles we were always working on something and kept busy for the entire hour, which is a testimony to the flow of the room being good, and there being a good quantity of puzzles in the room.
There was use of technology in the room, which was used in the later portion of the game, to good effect (and really got the adrenalin rising!)
The finale to this room is a great surprise, completely unexpected and left me escaping the room with a massive grin on my face!
I would definitely recommend this room to enthusiasts with a few rooms under their belts, as there is a lot to do so you have to be quick solving puzzles, I would recommend that newbies AT LEAST play classified first.

Clue System:
Clues were delivered via a screen in the room

Game Host:
Jess was our Game Host and despite the LACK OF MICROPHONES (get mics breakout, you won’t regret it!) She read the game with expertise, giving us a few nudges to get us back on the right track of the linearity of the game. She was very friendly and made us feel at ease before going into the game (I was nervous as it’s billed as Breakout’s hardest room!)

Did we escape?
Yes! With 8 minutes 13 seconds left
