lucardo-thedream

Theme:
“Your dreams are always happy and delightful, but tonight something is going wrong. Your wildest dreams of finding the magic numbers are slowly slipping away, through a whirlwind of riddles, puzzles and illusions. Can you solve your way out of this dream before your chances get lost in the subconscious forever? Be aware, things may not be as they appear…”

The theme of a “dream” leave so much scope for interpretation, and Lucardo took this and RAN with it, from the drama of being “put to sleep” to enter the room (a lovely touch and gave a real WOW moment as the room was revealed) to the decoration… the decoration was wacky, and off the wall… and hanging from the ceiling…. and things were the wrong way round… it was quite psychedelic and VERY vivid!
Everything in the room was relative to “The Dream” state, there is a lot of eye candy to look at in here, the first 5 minutes you’re bound to be looking around going “what, why, where…HOW?!” – One of the most bizarre rooms, but it totally works!

Game Play:
This was described as a “non-linear” room, but it played fantastically, the flow was superb and at no point were we ever left feeling totally stumped (The only time we hit a block was because we hadn’t got all the pieces to a puzzle yet!)
The assortment of puzzles was very good, from normal objects being used in not normal ways, to logic, maths, word, physical… there was SUCH a good selection of puzzles.
EVERY puzzle made perfect logical sense, and was fun… fun is the key element in this game, we had TONNES of it.

To find a non-linear game with such good flow is rare, usually we feel like headless chickens running around, chasing our tails, without a hint of where we are to go next But this game didn’t feel like that, we were able to relax, take everything in and really enjoy each and every puzzle thrown at us! Bravo!

Newbies may feel a little bit overwhelmed in this room, as there is an abundance of locks, but the puzzles are so logical that once they get in the flow everything will click. Enthusiasts will be amazed by the creativity and variation in puzzles and will have a blast!

Game Host:
Ian was our game host (and is co-owner of Lucardo) his passion for escape games is clear, he’s played over 100 games! After a long chat about where to go, which games to play and which were our favourites, he delivered a great brief & story (Lucardo’s story telling is brilliant!)
Within the game Ian watched us well, delivering hints just when we needed them (we actually only needed a couple of hints, that is testament to how good the game design is!)

Did we escape?
Yes, with 11 minutes left!
